Drivers : 19 - Validating Generic-Serial via RS232/DB9

OBJECTIVE
This test focuses on testing both sending and receiving data between your Mac and Edge IO via the RS-232/DB-9 Serial Cable.

For this test, use a Mac laptop and an Edge IO!


(This test case could be also run on IO Gateway but it's not necessary:
If testing IO Gateway, use a Path Matcher: /dev/ttyO4 when setting up Generic Serial driver)
PRECONDITION
  • Note: RS232 test case QA-T22 is tested with Mac and Edge IO

  • You have a Mac computer
  • You have a DB-9/RS232 Cable
  • You have a running Edge IO registered to a Factory Instance (qa.tulip.co)
  • You have access to the Edge IO's Device Portal
  • You have access to the Factory Instance where your Edge IO is registered to
  • You have access to 1Pass
  • You have access to the 'Unit Test' app
  • You can SSH into the Edge IO
